Senecio herreanus or String of Watermelons is an interesting trailing succulent with egg shaped leaves. It is similar to String of Pearls but with larger, elongated leaves. The cascading vines are lined with green leaves, each lined with dark green or purple tones - resembling the rind of a watermelon. The leaves are somewhat transparent, which allows light to shine through; the colors can be boosted by plenty of bright, indirect light.

String of Watermelon is a fast-growing plant with vines that can reach lengths of at least 24  inches long and they are easy to propagate. As these plant store water in their leaves, they are drought tolerant; water thoroughly but only when the soil feels very dry to the touch and the 'watermelons' just begin the to shrink.  Less water is required during winter months. No fertilizer is needed but if growth seems to be fading a diluted solution of water/fertilizer is best. Bright, indirect light is best; at least 6 hours is ideal. A well-draining succulent / cactus mix soil will help prevent root rot and make for a happy houseplant! Mildly toxic to pets.
