Alocasia 'Hilo Beauty' | 10 inch pot
Botanical name Caladium praetermissum. Over the years, Alocasia 'Hilo Beauty' has also been identified by several different names: Colocasia 'Hilo Beauty', Speckled Elephant Ear and Camouflage Alocasia. Known for its striking foliage with irregular variegation of light and dark green with yellow accents. The large, heart-shaped leaves (up to 12 inches long!) can be supported on blueish-black petioles adding to its drama. This beauty thrives in bright, indirect light (avoid harsh, direct sun as the leaves will sunburn); it prefers well-draining soil to be consistently moist. Water when the top 1-2" of soil are dry to the touch. As a humidity lover, a pebble tray, nearby humidifier or misting would be greatly appreciated but do avoid cold drafts or heating vents.
