A handy compact version of a native prairie favorite to add to your perennial bed. Flower has the same tall cylindrical cone with droopy yellow rays as R. pinnata, but the whole package is only 2-3 feet tall. This showcases the pinnate foliage and makes summer storm damage less likely. Long blooming in mid summer, sturdy taproot stays put, and it will seed around a bit. Prefers Sun to Partial Shade.
