Bright red 8-12 ounce fruits vary from an ox heart shape to a rounded plum form. With delicious flesh that is juicy and meaty, they are excellent for sauce or fresh eating and are a favorite of many gardeners for this reason. Tom Hauch of Heirloom Seeds commercialized the variety in 1990. It was acquired from the Amish near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. One of the Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste varieties. Indeterminate, 85 days from transplant.
