Homalomena is a relatively easy, low maintenance plant great for lower light spaces. With glossy green, textured heart shaped leaves this beauty is sometimes called queen of hearts or shield plant. Emerald Gem is not a fast grower reaching about 12-30" tall and 12" wide. Consistent 70 degree indoor temperatures and extra humidity if needed make this plant pretty easy going. Water until it comes out of the bottom of the pot, be sure to drain the excess water and wait until the top 1" of the soil drys before watering again. Overwatering causes root rot and yellowing leaves. Homalomena is related Philodendron's so this plant is not pet friendly.
