A deliberately designed mix of low-growing wildflowers and low-input turfgrass. Twin City Seed Co. designed this mix in conjunction with the UMN Bee Lab to support our critically at-risk, but ever-important pollinators while also conserving natural resources and maintaining the durability and functionality of a traditional home lawn. When to plant: Sow in spring, late summer, or fall, when temperatures are cool and soil is workable. Preparing lawn or soil: To oversee, mow lawn to less than 1/2" high; rake vigorously to remove debris and scratch the soil surface. For new lawns, work topsoil to a depth of three to four inches; smooth and grade with a garden rake. Fertilizing: Spread slow-release or starter fertilizer over topsoil at a rate recommended for seedings. Seeding: Sow seed evenly over lawn. Rake lightly, barely covering seed with soil. Mulching (Optional): Mulching keeps soil and seeds moist to ensure better germination. Spread a thin cover of grass clippings or peat moss over seeded soil, allowing soil surface to peek through mulch. Watering: Seeds need water to germinate and establish. Water twice daily until germination, the keep soil moist until first mowing. Maintenance: Ideally, grass needs one inch of water per week to continue growing. Fertilize twice during the growing season. Ingredients: 23.00% Celestial Creeping Red Fescue, 22.94% Intrigue Chewings Fescue, 22.72% Gladiator Hard Fescue, 22.79% Blue Mesa Sheep Fescue, 4.43% White Dutch Clover, 0.40% Creeping Thymus, 2.59% Self-Heal
