Majesty Palm prefers 6-8 hours of bright, indirect sunlight per day. Try setting within 3-4 feet of an east or west facing window. Water when the top 1" of soil drys out by sticking your finger into the soil 1" below the surface. Like most palms, Majesty needs high humidity. You can increase the humidity around your palm with a humidifier or adding a pebble tray for your palm to sit on. An organic, balanced fertilizer can used once a month during the growing season. Remove any dried or yellowing fronds to keep your palm clean and healthy. Misting fronds and cleaning the undersides with a soft cloth regularly, can help deter common pests like spider mites. Repot in the spring by using a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes. You can size up the container by as much as 2" when repotting. Majesty Palm is pet friendly and cleans the air by removing toxins like carbon monoxide, benzene and formaldehyde.
