(Brassica napus) This kale variety produces smooth green leaves on plants that grow 3-4' wide. Raw leaves are slightly sharp with a tangy mustard flavor. Cooked leaves are sweet, juicy, and tender. Donated to SSE by Irene Kemper of Nebraska, this variety was originally brought to the United States by her great-grandparents when they emigrated from Germany.
