Dieffenbachia have bold foliage, make great floor plants and are low maintenance! Thrive in bright, indirect light - avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorching. Lower light may reduce variegation. Perfect for bright offices, living rooms or bedrooms with a sheer curtain. Water when the top 2" of soil is dry to the touch making sure the water runs out the bottom and the soil isn't soggy. Yellowing leaves can be a sign of overwatering. Dieffenbachia plants prefer consistent watering and are not drought tolerant. Average home temperatures are fine for Dieffenbachia but they do appreciate extra humidity during our MN winters. Avoid placing near air vents and cold drafty windows. Repot with an organic potting mix with perlite and bark for good drainage. Fertilize once a month during the growing season with an all-purpose houseplant liquid fertilizer. Dieffenbachia can reach between 3-5 feet indoors. They can get leggy under low light, turn when watering for even growth all around. Toxic to pets.
