One of the best tropicals for your home! Bromeliads are adaptable to many indoor environments. Place near an East or North window for bright, indirect light. Too much light can cause sun scorch on the leaves and faded flowers, not enough light will slow growth with less flower color. Bromeliads have a central "cup" or rosette that you fill and refresh weekly with distilled water. Water the soil when the top 1" feels dry - be sure to let the water drain out the bottom. Bromeliads love a warm, humid environment making them perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. Keep away from drafty locations and chilly windows in the winter. Use an orchid mix or similar with very good drainage when repotting. Fertilize during the growing months with 1/2 the recommended amount when watering the soil.
