The bright-purple, stringless, slightly curved 5" pods of this variety grow amidst its distinctive purple foliage and purple flowers, giving it a stunning monochromatic color palette. In a deviation from the purple theme, the beans turn green when cooked. The seeds germinate well even in cold, wet soil. Bred at the University of New Hampshire by the late Professor Elwyn Meader, it was introduced by the Billy Hepler Seed Company in 1957. Bush habit, snap, 55 days.
